Project started in 2011
danceroom Spectroscopy (www.danceroom-spec.com) is a multi-award-winning project that combines rigorous interactive molecular dynamics with cutting-edge digital art. It grew out of some code written as part of a small EPSRC public engagement grant I obtained in Nov 2010. It went on to gather breathtaking momentum, receiving further funding from EPSRC, Arts Council England, NVIDIA, the Arnolfini, and the Watershed. To date, over 200,000 people have experienced dS across three continents, and it has been featured at major cultural institutions and events including London’s Barbican Arts Centre, Stanford’s Art Institute, the Bhutan International Festival in Thimpu, the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad, and ZKM | Centre for Art & Media Technology.
